CIVIL CASES BEFORE HON. RANDY L. TAHVONEN

Approximately 90 days after filing, Assignment Clerks routinely schedule civil cases on Judge Tahvonen's calendar for a Pretrial Conference. The following letter is enclosed with the Notice of Hearing along with the Pretrial Statement Form.

Enclosed is a pretrial statement which shall be completed by each party/counsel for each party, served upon opposing party/counsel, and filed with the Court no later than seven (7) days prior to the date set for the conference.

Judge Tahvonen does not conduct pretrials by telephone, he requests the parties/attorneys appear in person.

Requests for adjournment of the conference must be made in writing within seven (7) days of the date of mailing on the attached Notice to Appear. Thereafter, adjournments will be granted only upon written motion establishing good cause.

Failure to abide by the provisions of this Notice or the provisions of MCR 2.401 governing pretrial conferences may, in the Court’s discretion, result in dismissal of the cause or entry of judgment of default, with assessment of costs.
